Celebrating Eid at Dubai Desert Safari

An exciting holiday getaway with friends during the Eid Celebration in December 2007. A stay in Dubai is not complete without a thrilling ride in a 4-wheel-drive off to Dubai Desert Safari.

Our haggling skill and charms worked with different local travel agencies to succeed in getting the best deal for the group. Finally, when everyone confirmed and settled, we arranged the trip with Jaas Tourism. They charged us with the lowest fee of AED 110 per person. The package included a pick-up from our meeting point with two Toyota Land Cruiser, dune bashing, camel ride, buffet dinner at the camp, belly dancing, henna tattoo and a promise of fun and adventure of a lifetime.

While cleaning my files, I chanced upon our 2006 Teambuilding photos in Antipolo. ’twas one of my many unforgettable moments with Accenture colleagues.

We had the perfect plan for a weekend adventure that even heavy rain wasn’t able to put our high spirits down. A getaway to energized our soul, tickle our stressed out mind, fill our body with heavenly feast, plot a revenge and get even with our boss and coworkers. rawr.

Back in November 2008, my first morning in the arms of Manila after a two-years stint in Dubai and a short rejuvenating trip in Singapore, my then fiance fetch me early to give me a tour at our wedding venue. I admit I wasn’t the typical bride who picked our wedding location after I’ve been there, and in truth, I haven’t even step foot on our church and reception site until a month before the big day. I just knew how everyone is raving about it for a destination wedding and the photos seemed inviting… the rest was history.

Dream Haven: Bellarocca Island Resort and Spa

The first one that comes to mind when you ask me about my dream destination is Santorini in Greece, which is in close competition with Maldives. I just love how these two places are so distant from stress and civilization. Traveling from the other end of the world isn’t easy though and will require tedious planning and a lot of cash.

So, what I discovered recently got me really excited. I found out a new haven, just inside the country. No, its not Sonya’s Garden but can you keep a secret?

With its lush pine tree forest, a scenic river, majestic mountain range and mystic beach, it is fast becoming a popular destination choice for Manila dwellers and people who is in continuous search of weekend haven in Luzon (avoiding the hassle of booking trips in Visayas and Mindanao area). The place gets crowded during summer, holidays and weekends though. Last weekend, Anawangin is flocked with around 200+ campers.
