A holiday getaway with husband during our 1st year Anniversary last December.

My last minute deal with AsiaTravel was a good steal in search of a 5 star hotel for our night’s stay.

We checked in at Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila in Ortigas by 2 PM. The deluxe room is cozy and equipped with modern interior. Can’t wait to fill the bathtub with foamy water and soak in. We checked the amenities on the lower deck where the Spa, Sauna, Outdoor pool and Gold’s Gym are located. There is an easy access path going to Robinson’s Mall as well.

After a few hours we made our way to the MRT station and headed to Mall of Asia. Husband treat me out for an early dinner at Highlands Steakhouse (by Tagaytay Highlands).  We’ve never been to this part of the mall and I was a bit lost on what to order.

We picked a corner spot near the fireplace. The wood interior is refreshing to look at. The minute we walked in, we were transported to a rustic ambiance. The sun setting off Manila Bay is a precious view too.

We were served with complimentary bread while waiting for our order. We did enjoy it with our soup appetizer.

Finally after few minutes, we were spoiled with the divine taste of Ribeye Steak and Henry’s Barbeque Baby Back Ribs. We couldn’t finish it all as the serving is big enough for two persons already. Our waiter is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant menu is somewhat pricey but oh well, its our special day so splurging for pleasure isn’t an issue. I just wish they offer more meal options aside from their signature dishes.

After an extravagant meal, we stroll inside the mall to while away the time. At 7:30 PM, we went inline to watch Avatar at IMAX 3D. The whole movie is good, I couldn’t appreciate it better because the 3D effect made my head spin and my eyes hurt. At the middle of the film, my headache strike. We were still able to finish it though and went back to the hotel immediately after.

We swing by at Starbucks in Robinson’s Galleria to take out our dose of coffee. It didn’t work wonder for my pain though and we call it a night at 1AM.

Last day of 2009

We arise and freshened up early to swim at the hotel’s outdoor swimming pool. We enjoyed a leisure dip for sometime before going in at Seven Corners Restaurant to delight ourselves with complimentary buffet breakfast.

Yum. Yum. Yum.

Oh… this truly is a great day to say farewell to 2009 and to cheer and celebrate for another year, another life!
